Members of the LGBT community often find themselves carrying additional stressors that are related to their LGBT status. They may have suffered some anxiety about ‘coming out’. They may face discrimination in their workplace. They may be transitioning from one sex, to another. They may feel isolated and as though they do not fit in. Of course, LGBT individuals also suffer from stress, depression and all of the psychological problems as their non-LGBT counterparts, but need someone to understand their problems from an LGBT perspective.
I have particular education and experience working with LGBT individuals. I have treated many folks who identity as gay or bisexual. I once ran a parenting group for LGBT individuals in the US. Please do not hesitate to call me, should you need help.
